The Winda-Mara Housing Program provides and manages low-cost rental properties to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families in Heywood, Hamilton and Portland.
Its vision is to create sustainable, culturally affirming housing solutions that empower the local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community, fostering dignity, resilience, connection to Country and Culture and quality of life.
Winda-Mara’s new not-for-profit company, Winda-Mara Housing Limited, was approved as a registered housing provider in September and will begin creating social and affordable housing options throughout our region in 2025.
